Preview :
This research addresses the topic of shared meals in French nursing homes. Sharing meals is generally a daily requirement for all elderly people, in accordance with the residence contract. If the residents eat together every day de facto in geriatric institutions, the sociological approach seeks to identify institutional reasons and daily interactions that make such a routine possible in the context of high mental and physical disorders.
