The Ecole Centrale de Lyon and the Institut Paul Bocuse signed a partnership agreement aiming at strengthening their existing relationship.

A three-year agreement to boost the ambitions of both institutions
This partnership between the Ecole Centrale de Lyon - a major engineering school ranked among the international winners of the Shanghai Global Ranking and the Times Higher Education - and the Institut Paul Bocuse - the leading innovative school of the world of Hospitality, Foodservice and the Culinary Arts Management - is built around several objectives: anticipate change through creativity, strengthen their high-level education and develop their attractiveness at the international level.

Four main areas of work have been defined in this agreement:
  1. Support from the Institut Paul Bocuse, as part of its applied education, to improve the foodservice at the Ecole Centrale de Lyon
  2. The development of a school of culinary arts on the site of the Ecole Centrale de Lyon
  3. The implementation of joint research projects between the Center for Food & Hospitality Research at the Institut Paul Bocuse and the research laboratories of the Ecole Centrale de Lyon
  4. Collaboration to promote methodologies around educational innovation, creativity and design thinking in their respective programs

A partnership to formalize relations that are already strong
Owing to their geographical proximity but also their common use of innovative education, the two institutions have maintained a special relationship for several years now. This partnership aims to formalize, define the scope and enrich these joint efforts already initiated.
The Ecole Centrale de Lyon and the Institut Paul Bocuse are committed for three years. This partnership will be monitored by a Steering Committee and a dedicated working group composed of representatives of the two institutions will be set up to oversee each action undertaken.

About the Ecole Centrale de Lyon
Every year, nearly 350 engineering students and 50 PhDs graduate from the Ecole Centrale de Lyon. The training provides benefits from the excellent research of the 6 laboratories endorsed by the French National Scientific Research Centre (CNRS) present on its campus, as well as the influence of the International Joint Unit (Canada) and the 4 International Associate Laboratories (Korea, Japan, China, Brazil) in which the School is involved. In a spirit of openness common to all the establishments of the Ecoles Centrales Group, its high-level general engineering program has made it into a school recognized nationally and internationally by the many prestigious companies and universities with which dual diploma agreements have been signed.
